Stephanie's getting a makeover...help please
Okay I am going to try this one more time....I placed in advance tech section and no one able to help? Here we go....maybe it was in the wrong section...
Hey everyone,
Here she goes. I have a 1983 camaro proudfully named Stephanie, with a 305, flowtech headers, dynomax bullet mufflers that break out the side to make it true duals (believe it or not), edelbrock 1404 500 cfm carb with self-made bonnet running to a k&n filter, accel distributor with accel supercoil, topped off with a 700R4 transmission with lousy 2.73 non-posi in the rear, with stock radiator, waterpump, fuel pump, with 1992 camaro radiator fan to cool this thing down. Now it is time out with the old and in with the fast...
Here's the new...
Camshaft lift (in): .525 intake / .525 exhaust
Camshaft type:Steel hydraulic roller
Compression ratio: 9:1
Connecting Rod :recondition gm
Crankshaft Type:cast
Engine type: Chevy small-block V-8 bored .40 over
Displacement (cu in): 356
Cylinder head Type: Aluminum; 64cc chambers
Ignition timing: 10? BTDC @ 800 rpm 32? total @ 4000 rpm with vacuum advance disconnected
Rocker arm ratio: 1.5:1
Rocker arms Type:Stamped steel
Valve size (in):2.02 intake / 1.60 exhaust
Intake: Edelbrock performer rpm
Pistons: Hyperutectic dome pistons
Okay now that you got the specs I need some advice. I have a paxton sn92 supercharger for this engine. I want to run about 6lbs -7lbs of boost on this thing, It will be a blow through setup. I am going to get a demon 750 cfm blow through carb, and right now I have a mecanical holley high performance fuel pump max psi 7.5 @ 180 gph. I am going to get the msd 5462 btm to compensated for the ignition and prevent detonation problems. I have ordered a 700R4 with stage two shift kit and 2200 stall from mad dog performance transmissions to shift this thing and to top this all off I have a 1982 chevy camaro rebuilt rear end with 4.10 gears with a spool. I am going to lower this thing about an inch with the coil spring clamps you get at the auto part stores to save some money. I am going with cross drilled and slotted rotors with bendix semi-metallic break pads for stopping power. So here are my worries?
Does this engine combo sound plausible with the supercharger?
Do I need a higher psi fuel pump maybe around max psi of 14?
How many degrees should I retard my timing with the btm 1 degree per lb of boost, or 2?
I am going to reuse my accel distributor with the vaccum advance would this cause any problems with the msd universal btm? I don't think so.
What is the max output of a paxton sn92? I think around 7psi?
What type of oil to go with? I am a mobil 1 kinda guy. I figure regular 10W40 for break in and then synthetic after that.
What type of octane fuel? 93?
Heat range on plugs? Autolite 24's?
My engine builder told me that this should put out about 475 hp at the fly without the supercharger and about 540-560 with the supercharger? Do these numbers sound right? THis was all based on 93 octane fuel.
Does this seem like a good canidate for a 12-13 sec car?
Should I set my timing at 10 degrees for the cam and the supercharger?
Any other advice you have is more than welcome. I have been working on cars for about 3yrs and I am new to all the performance aspect I just have been reading and reading for about 6 months now and went ahead with the deal on the tranny and engine. Thanks for your help.

I would think you would probably want a forged bottom end before you go putting a supercharger on it. Those pistons are not very strong when coupled with power adders. Thats what i would do for peace of mind.
That engine will not be making 475 fwhp. I would guess closer to 350-375 without the blower. i dont know how well your heads flow.
375hp would most likley put you into the low 13's, high 12's with a decent driver. But that 2.73 rear isnt going to help you out at all.
