I have a '86 z28 with tpi, and the steering column is tilt with crusie control. I am going have my steering column replaced and want to get the part myself and found a '84 firebird v6 steering column. It also has tilt but no crusie control. Will the column fit my car or is the length and bolting different?

It'll bolt in and work fine, but obviously enough your cruise will not function anymore. There may also be a difference in the type of harness connector at the bottom of the column....you may have to cut and splice your old connector to the new column (but I don't think so.)
