My guess with a RS and it did not come with speed rated tires V/Z
the limit should be 115 MPH.

When I had the TBI305 in my '91 RS it would shut down at 115. So yeah, DJP is correct.

Maybe cuz you have a B4C option.

It's probably 117 on both Chevy and Pontiac. Speedos aren't that accurate at high speeds anyways.

Not intended to flame anyone or third gen.org but: I am a big fan of thirdgen.org but to me the guy who wrote this as well as thirdgen.org dropped the ball on this one. Wouldn't it be a cleaner job to just remove the speed limiter in the memcal. If you have a buddy with a prom burner and the software it is very simple to do. The limit set at the factory on the cars with Z rated tires at an unobtainable 255 mph.

Both are set at 115. At 100+ mph, speedo's arent perfect. You were probably only going 115 even if it said 117.

It would be cleaner but if you don't have a buddy with the stuff, well then it's no so easy. And if you have the switch somewhere like under the dash, I think it'd be pretty cool. Either way though...

It's easy to reprogram the TBI cars since the chip isn't in a large holder like the TPI cars and the later V6's.

I reprogrammed my friends 91 TBI Bird when he went from 2.73 gears to 3.42. He'd hit the limiter at 92mph since the ecm was still reading 115-117 due to the gears.
