speed limiter?

speed limiter?
Just curious what the the speed limiter is set at on a 1990 RS 305 TBI? my speedo does not work and it shuts down, at what speed i do not know, any help would be appreciated.

It's probably 117 on both Chevy and Pontiac. Speedos aren't that accurate at high speeds anyways.

I am a big fan of thirdgen.org but to me the guy who wrote this as well as thirdgen.org dropped the ball on this one. Wouldn't it be a cleaner job to just remove the speed limiter in the memcal. It's easy to reprogram the TBI cars since the chip isn't in a large holder like the TPI cars and the later V6's.
I reprogrammed my friends 91 TBI Bird when he went from 2.73 gears to 3.42. He'd hit the limiter at 92mph since the ecm was still reading 115-117 due to the gears.
