SOMEONE! please help me with picking a full exhaust system!

I don't really know what I should get. Heres what I want. Shorty Headers, Y-pipe, pipe to fit with my stock Cat, and muffler, and tailpipes. Basically I am satisfied with the stock design. I want to keep the emissions crap all hooked up. I don't want to have to fabricate anything or weld.

Can someone help me find the cheapest exhaust system for my 1986 305 TPI Camaro with a Auto Tranny? Help me pick it out from Summit preferably so I can just drive up and get it. ALL help would be GREATLY appriciated!

There are many selections of catbacks out there; it's all a matter of price and sound preferance.
Oh ya.. and PLEASE tell me your not going to use the STOCK cat

well for now i might have to keep the stock cat, or just put on a test pipe. Cause I dont know if my budget will allow for a cat the same time i get headers, y pipe, and cat back crap. lol. This is a slow fixer up in progress. lol. My y pipe is demolished. Its s[lit from the right manifold clear to the left one. It's ignorant.

Matt's right: A catco catylitic converter is cheap enough that you shouldnt be keeping the old one.

I suggest if you want cheap cat-back, buy the Edelbrock TES header and Y-pipe from Summit, then go to Thunder Racing and buy the Hooker Aerochamber cat-back. That is what I use on my 12-second E/T, 114 MPH third-gen. It works, and it's inexpensive. The Hooker sounds good, too.

If you want the whole deal from one place, Thunder sells the Hooker header/Y-pipe system too. Both the Hooker and Edelbrock TES retain emissions for you.

What is the meaning of this?! Check out the EDL-6874 header set since I cant seem to post a direct link from summit.
No price and whats with the substitute carp about the ceremaic set? I don't need no ceramic coating cause I'm not making a show car. So why can't I get these regular ones? I know they gotta be way cheaper than the 400 dollar ceramic ones.

PM'd you

And you really dont need ceramic coating. It's REALLY good stuff, but WAY too much money. When you get your headers, bye some hi-temp flat-black spray paint and unload the can on both headers And then be careful putting them in so you don't scratch them

hello.......you dont buy ceramic coated for the finish, you buy it from the heat resistant properties.basically your under hood temps go way down and the headers wont get no where near as hot as painted ones because with the ceramic coating, heat isnt allowed to build up in the metal and is passed on right out the exhaust.

I know that's the technical benifit from ceramic coating, but it's something I don't feel like paying 100 more dollars for.

I bought a complete shorty headers, Y pipe, catback made by SLP at Summit Racing in Tallmadge several years ago for my '87 IROCZ.

Also, I understand that Edlebrock makes headers for our cars and probably has a catback system.

Yeah I'm gonna be making a stop up this week. I'm lucky I live only 45 min from it.

They probably have the non-coated ones too for about $315. If they dont, call up TPIS in Chaska, MN. I bought mine from TPIS and they were cheaper than Summit, plus they showed up in only two days.

Not everything from TPIS is expensive and their service has always been good to me.

Re: SOMEONE! please help me with picking a full exhaust system!

I would say go for the hooker shorty headers over the edelbrocks. The edelbrock design is crap. I'll toss in another vote for ebay Catco cat and hooker aerochamber cat-back though
