Koni's are the best street shock, then Bilsteins, then KYBs. I have no experience with Tokico, so I dont know where they fall on the list.
http://www.shox.com/ has good pricing on shocks.

I've heard good things about QA1's, I don't know if they make front ones for thirdgens, but I believe everything in the rear of 3rd and 4th gens are interchangeble and I know they make them for 4th gens. Might be an option for rear shocks. Front one's depend. If you wanna drag race, you can just get a set of drag ones for the front, personally I'd go with an adjustable koni or something similar so you can change your setup for street/strip etc.

Your shock choice will need to be based on how you drive the car.

Do you drag race? Autocross? Open road course events? Just street driving?

Dont mean to hijack this thread, but what kind of setup would be ideal for drag strip? Stiff rears, soft fronts?

Since they don't make Koni shocks for the front, I looked up a set of Bilsteins. Apparently the fronts are WAY more $$$ than the rears:

I wonder how much tighter that setup would be than stock?

They make Koni struts for the front. http://www.spohn.net/category.cfm?categoryid=1067

There are no QA1 front struts for thirdgens though.

That is what I meant, the fronts wouldn't be as good as the rears.
