Shifter Assembly...

Will the shifter assembly from an LT1 car fit on my 3rd gen? I have the ball shifter **** and want the square one, but the square one won't fit the shaft on mine. Thanks!

I believe I had a friend who tried that and said it was a lot of work and wasn't worth it. Just hearsay tho.

get the shifter from a third gen with the square **** (held on with a staple type clip, not a snap ring like the ball),then, if you still want the fourth gen style ****, it should then be a direct swap
