Ses

I forgot to add this to my previous thread...sorry

I got the SES light at almost the same time the off/on sputtering problem began. I know you can use a paperclip or wire to connect two ports on the ALDL, but I have not found a complete guide to doing it and finding out the codes, only a list of the codes. Can somebody give me some sort of step-by-step for doing this to save myself the cost of getting it diagnosed? Much appreciated and thanks for taking the time with my other post!!

Re: Ses

To place the ECM in field service mode on an OBD I GM, jump the pins A and B with a paper clip or jumper wire. They are the upper right pins in the ALDL. You do this KOEO, and as soon as you get it in field service mode you will hear some relays click and the fans come on and the MIL will flash code 12...at this point you are there.

Later,

Erik
