Sensor question.
 

The 90' TBI Formula is throwing 2 codes. One deals with the barometric sensor, the other deals with the MAP sensor. I went to the local auto shop and they had both listed under 1 title. Are these two the same? Also, would a problem with these cause the car to run poorly or make it get bad gas milage? Thanks.

Yes it should be the same sensor.

That's what it says in the manual..."Baro sensor", but I thought I thought the 2 were separate because of the different codes and the way they are adressed.

A barometer is something that senses pressure.
Your MAP sensor detects pressure(load) on the engine so I guess thats why they call it that. But I have never heard it called that in real life.

So what happens when you have a bad map sensor?

The Senors are the same but perform different functions. And if one is bad, most of the time the SES code will be a 33 or 34.

Yup, both of those came up.

Well it's one of the most important sensors that controls spark and fuel.
One person on TG.O blew up his built engine because of this.

Replace both Senors while your at it, they are not that expensive
About $13 each at NAPA or any other Auto Part Store.
