Sensor question.
The 90' TBI Formula is throwing 2 codes. One deals with the barometric sensor, the other deals with the MAP sensor. I went to the local auto shop and they had both listed under 1 title. Are these two the same? Also, would a problem with these cause the car to run poorly or make it get bad gas milage? Thanks.

Anyone?

That's what it says in the manual..."Baro sensor", but I thought I thought the 2 were separate because of the different codes and the way they are adressed.

A barometer is something that senses pressure.
Your MAP sensor detects pressure(load) on the engine so I guess thats why they call it that. But I have never heard it called that in real life. |
So what happens when you have a bad map sensor?

The Senors are the same but perform different functions. And if one is bad, most of the time the SES code will be a 33 or 34.

Yup, both of those came up.

Replace both Senors while your at it, they are not that expensive
About $13 each at NAPA or any other Auto Part Store. |
