heh, ask 1bad86z that question!

He'll probably say that it's like having a metal robot that reaches into your pocket and filches your wallet whenever you start it up.

I'm so close I can taste it. My wallet keeps getting lighter trying to do it. If I really wanted to go faster, I'd get rid of the car and drop my engine into something lighter like an altered.

Actually the first time you make a fast run it feels good. If I run anything slower than 10.50's now it feels too slow. Going through the whole procedure has just become second nature. Make sure everything is turned on etc before the run. Get the staged light lit. Push the transbrake button. As soon as both lanes have the stage bulb lit, put the throttle to the floor and wait for the first flash of yellow on the top bulb then let go of the transbrake button. The delay box counts down and releases the transbrake when the light is turning green. I just hang on for the ride. Just before mid track I shift the tranny. In 10.0 seconds it's all over.

I now have a 540 under the hood. 9's should be easy this year. I'm also doing it at high altitude.

well since mine isn't close, i have driven one before though. It's like let go of the transbrake, see nothing but sky for a few seconds come down, do a little steering and hold on ....shift light, bam next gear, shift light BAM third....all done before you remember to breathe while going down the track.
