Still trying to get used to driving a car.

What is the best way to get this fixed? Just take it off and take it in to have repainted? The paint on that air damn is just chipping like crazy.

yea, takin it off and painting it would work, but 2 things
1. it might not match the rest of the car (depending on how faded that rest of it is)
2. if u drive the car alot, its gonna be close to the same way in not too long of a while.

Most body shops can match your current paint exactly, regardless of fading. They have an optical scanner which is deigned for this very purpose. Just take the airdam to them and they'll take care of the rest.

Make sure they put flex additive in when they paint it or it'll crack all to pieces in the first few days.

The paint job on it is only about a year old. The front is just banged up because of the open manholes, tall speedbumps, and cheap street gutters (no drainage system in Lubbock) that I was not expecting to have to slow to 5mph to drive over.

I suppose since it has cracked so easy the original job didnt have the additive on it (I didnt paint it before I bought it).

What should I expect to have this little piece painted?

Thanks

depends on where you go.....i paid $40 to have mine repainted the stock factory color. slightly more obviously for more intensive colors.

one things for sure start taking it easy.....you should hit speed bumps head on.

I had my nose repainted in Feb/03 and it still looks great. No scrapes or anything. Daily driver too. Just gotta be super careful.

you may want to invest in a bra

When I bought it, it had a bra on it. So ugly, had to take it off asap (I even let the seller keep it). Yuck.

I should take pics of the roads in this city. When I say manholes left OPEN, random ditches in the streets, and 2-3 feet high speed bumps, Im not in the least bit joking.
I just drive my truck in the city now. Its too much of a risk to drive the car. When I was changing the oil in the camaro a couple of months ago, I noticed the oil pan and two of the exhaust pipes had some really nice dents, on them as well. Fortunately, the drain plug goes in and out with no problem.
I use to drive a Mercedes that was WAY lower than this car and never had any problems like this before. But then again, that was a different city with smarter city officials and road crews.

i don't care how low it is if your careful it shouldn't happen but everyone has those moments. parking curbs are the worse for me just because i have such a time off from the winter that i have to relearn how long the car is.

Interesting, I can slide over curbs with no problem.

The front end of my car is usually about 5cm from the curb when i park.Really it depends on where i park because all curbs are different heights(because the parking lot is uneven)

It also depends on the aspect ratio of the tires, your rims, your suspension. There are alot of things that will make a difference if it hits or not.

srry i have to raise the flag, you can prevent dings in the paint by not driving into **** no question, but the bottom side of the gfx scrapes on everything in my iroc from drive ways to well mainly drive ways, but the bottom of the gfx and the very tip of the front always gets scraped to hell
