runners and port job.....
This has been very good information. I will be doing my own porting, along with some supervision. I have a mechanical background, so its not gonna be a problem. Hey, theres a first time for everything! Thanks.

Hi guys,
Hey, I am still investigating the 305 build up. I just got my extra plenum and base to be ported. What 305 heads would you recommend that I get for the set up? (I want to have all my parts ready to install the day that I tear the thing down) I will be porting/polishing, new valve guides, and larger valves...
Now, for something really interesting.... I called the cam guru at Crane Cams last week. He says that the 305 TPI 700R4 cars had less COMPRESSION than the 5 speed cars. I have heard of less cam, never less compression. Do any of you know this to be true? He recommended the Crane Powermax 2030 cam. This gentleman told me that I would need a bit more compression to make this work better, and that this cam is really all that he would recommend due to computer considerations. What do you think??? He also stated that this cam works best for low end power and this cam would not require headers... he said that the headers would hurt low end power, even with 1-5/8" primaries. Now I am confused... Oh yeah, the tech at Comp Cams was not helpful at all.... didnt know or didnt want to say anthing....
