rocker arms

Do these things really add any horsepower? CC claims 25HP but I doubt that....I mean....does it really matter? Cause rocker arms are easy to switch....but 300$ is kinda deep.

I don't think you'd really see 25hp unless you start with 20 year old, corroded, rusty, old oil goopy stamped arms. You might see 10-15hp. Figure (with a 10hp gain), that's $30/hp. You can find some for around $200. Look on eBay. They're definitely a good thing but sure are expensive.

On a big block, I'd say that 20-25 hp is not unheard of, however on a small block, it's more like 10-15 if you've got good heads.

wouldn't 1.6 rockers give a bit more power? I mean, it's a tad bit more lift, right?

Go with a set of 1.6 toller tip rockers. You get the best of everything....More power, Less wear,Less money and you dont have to change your valve covers. You will never feel the power difference between full roller rockers and roller tip rockers. The only time I would recomend full rollers is if you plan on running a high lift cam. Also Full roller rockers will have to be adjusted eventually. Hope that helps!

Generally, increasing the rockers ratio by .1 adds up to being about .030" extra lift, and maybe a degree more duration. Yes, they will give a bit more power because the valves will be open slightly longer than with the 1.5 rockers. Will they give you 15-20 hp every time? Probably not.

You also need to make sure you valve springs won't bind when going to bigger rockers.
