Removing A.I.R.

I have a 1991 Z28 Camaro and was wondering who removed the A.I.R.. What was involved in doing this as I am getting headers and don't want the robbing A.I.R. on the car, want more HP. Please let me know what you guys did in detail if you can.

Re: Removing A.I.R.

I've removed the all that stuff on my 91 305 amd 92 350, I just pulled the smog pump, egr diverter solinoids, and either cut off the air tube that runs down to the cat and pinch it shut or get a high flow cat without air. You'll need a longer belt. I can give you the belt size when I get back home. You'll probable get a check engine light to come one after some highway driving, but it will go away after you turn the car off.

Better yet here is a tech artical on the process
