Is a rebuild worth it

Hey I'm considering rebuilding my 305 in my 92 RS. I don't know about the motor (guy b4 me put a new one in) but the car has 136k on it. I'm geussin the motor has maybe 80k. Would a rebuild be worth the time and money? thanks

If it ain't using oil then leave it alone. 305s run a long time before croaking.

Just choose high performance parts that will work on any smallblock, so your investment isn't made obsolete when you have to put another engine in.

Putting all sarcasm aside, get the most out of the 5.0L until it passes on, then find a good 350 and install it in it's place.

I'm not disrespecting the 'lil 305's potential at all, but the plain truth is you will spend MORE $$ to rebuild it than a 350 b/c of the popularity and availability of parts for the 350. I know I rebuilt one a couple of years ago, but never again...
Seeing as how everything, besides the longblock, will interchange as if it was born there, and you get 50more cubic inches, and an almost infinite selection of low cost performance parts; it's a no-brainer.
