Rebuild 700R4 tranny?

What's involved in rebuilding my tranny? I'm pretty mechanically inclined and if there are no special tools involved, I want to try it myself. Are there kits out there? Vendors, prices would be appreciated. If I can't do it myself, what price should I expect to pay at a shop? I want to stay stock, although firming up the shifts just a tad would be kinda cool I think... Stock shifts in that tranny are pretty soft.

Rebuilding a trans includes replacing every seal (and there are quite a few), every clutch, and every steel disc betweent the friction clutches. And replacing any hard part that is damaged. If you have never done it before, dont try it unless you know someone who has that can help you. If you do a search, this topic has been discussed frequently.

One of the most important things to change, the Sungear Shell. There are aftermarket heavy duty to buy (I pruchased mine from http://www.bulkparts.com )

The stock one is one of the weakest parts in the 700. Mine where cracked 2/3 of the spline.
