Reasons for detonation
Well recently... My car will either run around 160 or 220-225.
I'm very confused as to why this happens. I never use my A/C (although when I turn that on...I overheat like a b*tch). I always turn my dual fans on when the car is around 150. I'm not too familiar with the whole 'detonation' thing, but I was told this is what's happening. My T-Stat was replaced about 6 months ago. My radiator looks good. Any idea's?
I think the dumb*ss previous owner took the airdam out...So I'm going to have to buy a new one.
I know it's ghetto....but I don't have my CD player mounted so it just sits there. So when it 'detonates'.....I can feel the heat rushing out of the slot where the CD player is. When this happens....I lose tremendous power.
Any idea's would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Yea I had bad pinging a couple months ago so I got my EGR Valve replaced and it went a way. It's back now so I'm going to have it replaced again. Also, my plugs are about 3 years old. Could this be why?
