Rear end question

Will the gears from a 95 Z fit in my 86 Z with minimal effort? I have 2.73 in my camaro and the gears out of the 95 are 3.42s. Also, what do I all need to have them work as posi? I need the carrier too, right? Thanks!

First problem you will have from the start is the 26 spline axle shafts you now have. And No, the 28 spline shafts will not work from the 4th gen Car ( to long ). The gears and limited slip carrier should transfer over if everything is a 10-bolt.

You can get aftermarket 28-spline shafts fairly cheap....it's a good upgrade to do anyway. Once you get the shafts it will all bolt right in. There's no need to even unbolt the ring gear from the carrier.
