rear end gear help??? cant find any

rear end gear help??? cant find any

i have a 1987 camaro iroc-z that has the disc rear brakes, 9 bolt borg warner (prob spelled wrong) rear end that i can not for the life of me find any gears available??? Can anyone point me in a 4:11 direction? lol or am i looking to be starting a 10 bolt drum conversion?? thanks- Chris

check 9 bolt.com, im assuming you have already calle DTS, richmond and some of the other companys? check with yukon gear, i wanna say i "think" they offer a ratio that stout.

Good luck trying to find gear sets for the BW 9-bolt. Very few are avaiable, with a 3:70/3:73 ratios being the lowest.

yeah its very hard, im lucky to have the 3:70's but its an 1/8th mile car and i want lower..... how hard is it to swap to a ten bolt?

I have the same rear. I'm planning to find a 4th gen rear with a 3.42 gear. It'll swap right in and the pics I've seen of the width difference is barely noticeable unless you know or know enough about 3rd gens to see it.

i hear ya calaban, the 9 bolts have what your looking for gear wise. im building mine for the 1/8th so i want more towards a 4:11 ish which i found on 9bolt.com. i have a set of 3:23's, and 3:70's ill see ya if you want to go that route.... where in NC are you?

You could try Summit Racing. You might pay more for new stuff, but chances are they have what you want.

I haven't been on the site for quite a while but when I was looking I found that ringpinion.com also had a lot of stuff for our BW 7.75" rear.

Here is a set of 3.73's for it. Sorry for posting in an old post ha.

I take it you are not going to drive this car on the street? What transmission are u running? you are using the tpi too?
