rear end ??

rear end ??

ok on my 84 z 28 camaro i've had an engien swap and tranny i got a 350 carb. and a 700r4 tranny and i the pinnion gear in the back is starting to go or already ahs it grinds alot which is not good so i've decided to just replace the whole back dif. but i don't know what to buy cause right know with the stock diff. it is pretty quick but i dunno what kinda gears to go ? any help would be appericated thanx

So, if I understood that nice run on country grammar sentence correctly, you're undecided on gear choice? With an auto, the highest I'd go, and most common to see, is 3.73's. That's a good "compromise" gear when running a 700R4. You can always check the gears you have now and match them.

Turn tire one full rotation while someone counts how many times the driveshaft spins. 10-bolt:

3.75 turns = 3.73
Hair over 4 turns = 4.1
Etc, etc

Agree with the above....3.73s are great and 3.42s are probably the perfect gear for the third gen.

True, when running TPI/TBI. I would imagine with the powerband of a carb and good intake, 3.73's would be better. Either way though
