Ran good - won't restart. list of things needed please. in a bind.
Hey all,
I have a 91 firebird with 305 tbi.
On the way to work this morning I noticed that the engine started idling at about 1500 rpms but ran ok. Stopped at work and went out to go home and it just turns over.
Stuck my finger under an injector and there doesn't seem to be any gas coming out - bone dry.
Tried the paperclip trick and couldn't get any code at all - no blinking.
I had the fuel pump partially go out 2 weeks ago - loped and ran bad. Changed TPS, Idle solenoid (in TBI), EGR, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator, and injectors. Nothing worked. Then bought fuel pump and have been driving it great for 1 1/2 weeks til ths morning.
In the last month I changed the oil pressure sending unit because it went bad and wasn't reading right. Also changed plugs and rotor and cap. I bought the car 1 1/2 month ago. It does not sound like it jumped timing, but....
My work is an 45 min away. Tomorrow I'm going to work in my truck with enough tools to do anything necessary BUT pull the engine. I'll mostly be checking for easy stuff.
If you think this could be the fuel pump relay - where is that durn thing?
Computer? The new carter fuel pump? Just looking for a list of probables.
Thanks a lot
Doug
