Ram Air on 3rd. Gen
I'm doing an LT1 swap into my 87 T/A.I'm looking at buying a Ram Air hood. I noticed a guy selling new GM WS6 Ram Air induction kits and was wondering if I could make it work on my 87 T/A with an LT1?.........thanks
It sounds feasible. In fact, there is a guy that has a really nice looking Trans Am that put a Ram air hood on the car and made it functional in much the same way you are talking about. He has the L98 motor still but I don't see why an LT1 would create any problems.
Go for it.
Go for it.

Check out my web page and look at the third to last pic....Kinda shows how the setup is ran. I have a cone K&N filter on the end of some 3" pvc(now covered with black hose) and attach the other end to your MAF (being LT1 I am not sure if you have a MAF or SD). The radiator bleed hose that runs to reservoir has a rubber ninety and a nipple to get under pvc. The hood I have is from ASCD and has holes cut out on both sides that runs from Ram grilles...Plugged up the driver side hose and all air hits the K&N.
Pretty sweet IMHO
