questions about headers + y pipe for my 3rd gen

Hello all. I am new to the board and this is my first time posting. I have had my 3rd gen (1991) Z28 for a while now and all I have on it is cat-back exhaust with v-force muffler. I am not really all up into the technical aspects of my Z and the exhaust, so I am asking for some help. I have a couple of questions. Here goes. Is it possible to get long tube headers for my 3rd gen, because I can't seem to find them anywhere for 3rd gens? Is it maybe something to do with the ground clearance? I assume I would have to get an off road Y-Pipe, but when I was looking at Jeg's i saw a universal X-Pipe with dual cutouts that caught my eye, and was wondering if this would work if i found some long-tubes for my camaro. I would love to hear from anyone, so any suggestions, help, would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Hooker 2055's are a direct fit, and Mufflex makes an off-road ypipe for them. Hope you don't need emissions thought, or at least have a way around it.

You probably already know this, bust just in case there was any confusion, that is $300 just for the Y pipe. You would still need to purchase the headers seperately. And as far as the 02 bungs go, i would do them if it was me. The 02 sensors help the ecm, and thats always a good thing....at least on a fuel injected motor.

Anyone have pictures of the ground clearance of the 2055 w/ mufflex y-pipe setup? Preferably on a car with Eibach Sportlines. Just wondering how bad the clearance would be.

Have you thought about going with the dual cat Y pipe stock configuration? You can always put headers to the dual cats.

I was noticing the motor in your sig.....how is that working out for you? I am trying to get back into a 92 Z28 and was contemplating going that route for the motor......although I wanna stroke it to a 383 if I do.......

I'm using those longtubes with a custom y-pipe (no cats) and an SLP loudmouth. The only thing that sucks is ground clearance, I can't imagine there being very much back pressure.

409$+ for a pair of uncoated long tubes? What are these headers guys thinking with prices like these. Just 2 years ago prices were 100-150$ less. This is getting retarded as far as price. ..Anyway sorry about the rant. I run 1 5/8th heddman shortys and Y... They work fine for me dont know how much hp im losing but i can imagine not much at all. they have great GC and work good.

The ti-tech are ceramic coated. They become harder and more abrasion resistant with heat. Heat stable up to 1,600 degrees.
