Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
Quick question for anybody with the Stealth Ram. My brother has a 92 Z with a built 355 (+ supportting mods) as well as a 12# ATI. Now, he has a blown headgasket and we have been toying around with the idea of swapping on the Stealth Ram. Is it as good as tehy advertised, with a low loss of low end trq but much better topend or is his Big Mouth base + TPIS runners + ported plenum just fine? I know it is going to be subjective to an extent but, I want to make sure I am only going to be doing this once. Also, his heads were milled when he had the motor originally built and we will have to have the new intake milled to match but, is the rest of the install just a plug and play type scenario? Thanks for any and all input,
Kyle

Re: Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
i think you would see a pretty good gain if you guys switch to the stealth ram...also sounds from the amount of Aftermarket TPI stuff, he could sell it all and probably pay for the stealth ram...also the stealth ram will accompany the blower a lot better also, because at higher RPMS you'll be able to turn that blower more, pushing that much more air in...what else does he have done to it? heads/cam?? you'll loose very little low end torque, because the blower will comensate more over a N/A engine...i think HSR would be a great investment...i totally love mine..it feels awesome when i get into my cam's powerband, its like the car just wants to GOOO now...its amazing...
Re: Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
also, why did he mill his heads if he was adding a blower??? that was dumb, you want lower compression with a blower/turbo...does it run alright? your chamber pressure has to be way up there...

Re: Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
I believe you will need a new fuel rail and some new connecting fuel lines. I would get the fuel rail from Holley with the adjustable fuel pressure regulator.
This sounds a lot like the setup that I want to get down the line. How much Hp/Tq is he makeing?

Re: Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
yes you will the need the intake itself, then holley's fuel rails, then custom made fuel lines...just order SS braided ones, its about 120 for the lines, otherwise you can go the rubber route and save ya some money..the intake is 300 new, fuel rails are 220 new i believe..then you can run your stock TB if ya want, i would suggest a bigger one if you don't alreayd have one...you can go to stealthram.com i believe it is, and it tells you all the parts you need...its like 620 for the hole swap..
Re: Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
Takes 1 day to do the swap on a stock TPI car, this includes yanking everything off and gathering up all the parts.
For the fuel lines, I was going to use adaptors to adapt the hard lines to -6AN fittings but noone had them in stock, so I had a local shop cut a part of my stock TPI hard line and braze on a -6AN fittings so that I could attach the stock rubber lines to the SS braided lines.

Re: Question on Holley Stealth Ram?
yea summit has the correct connectors, ones a 14mm and the other is a 16mm i think...i like the hardlines straight to the SS lines, because its real visible right there and you can see the fittings and everything...just kinda shows it off a little bit more, cuz afterall it is 120 for SS lines!!
