www.fasterproms.com can do it for around $350. After that, if you need to make more changes, it is about $150. The way it works is that they send you a chip based on your info, take data readings and send you another. You take more readings and they send you a final burn so it is perfectly dialed in.

You can buy the stuff yourself and learn while you keep doing it. For that kind of money, why bother? If it is done right, you will not have to burn and reburn it. You only need to reburn it if you didn't get it just right or if you make serious mods.

OOps! Back up. TPI? Not a good choice.
So does this mean it will make my car run slower?

He's right about lobe seperation. Something in the 113/116 area would work better with a TPI setup.

Would I still try it? Probably but I would be more excited to try on of Comp Cams flat tappet Nitrous HP cams. The 2 smallest versions they offer would work well I believe. They offer a pretty wide duration split for spray and a tight lobe seperation(113 on all of them i think). Oh and the lift is probably the highest you can find for a flat tappet cam at those duration specs and they're still cheap compared to a roller grind. Goodluck

My cam has 219 deg duration both intake and exhaust and 0.525 valve lift with 112 deg lobe sep. With 1.6 RR, it has 0.560 lift. It worked crummy till I got the IAC set up right and the EPROM reprogrammed.

so what ya'll are saying is that i should return the cam(if i can find the reciept). and get one with about 220 duration and around 114 deg lobe sep. if i'm sprayin a 100 or 125 shot what should the duration be?

You need an engine plan. You cannot just buy this cam and that head and that intake. Get a builder you like, pick his brains and get their system. That way, everything works well together.

You could go with a higher lift cam but you will still be choked up with the stock TPI. If you had to do one thing only, I would go with the intakes.

How old is the engine? How many miles? Spray is expensive if you cannot keep off it. I'd just do headers and intake unless you are prepared to either lay off the gas or rebuild the block.
