Pro Toplines non-centerbolt?

Anyone using Pro Topline heads or at least know if they are non-centerbolt? When you order them, is it an option?

The reason I ask--I got home today and a box was sitting on the counter. "1955-1986 Chevy Small Block V8, Polished Valve Covers." I geuss my dad got em for me. I hate having to tell people a gift won't work, so I figured I'd ask.

I think they will work with either type of valve cover, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Many aftermarket head makers have their products machined for both types. If you want to make absolutely certain, call Pro Topline or send them an e-mail.

Ok, thanks, I'll email them tomorrow.

I geuss it's the same deal with AFR's right? I just got a new job that may allow for these pieces of art...

You must be working the night shift like me or something. If nothing else, you should be able to drill and tap the heads so the old school valve covers will work.

According to the listing in summit's catalog they use centerbolt and perimeter valve covers.

How do you like them? How does the car run? Worth it over another $400 for some AFR's? Or would you have rather waited and spent more?

Theres no way I wouldve spent $400 more on heads that didnt flow any better. AFR assembles their heads with shoddy components, then only takes $150 off if you want them unassembled. The engine is going together right now, so I dont have any results yet, but the heads look awesome and have no flash or flaws. The only complaint I have is that some of the rocker stud holes werent tapped completely to the bottom, but it was an easy fix. Id definitly recommend the heads to others.
