Yes, you can, but you need to be careful and have the proper kind of engine lift capable of tilting and what not. Basically undo all electricle connections, undo tranny mount, and engine mounts, disconnect your power steering, tranny lines, basically all the crap. you'll see it all when you start, but yes, you can take both out at once.

You can pull them both but you'll need a good cherry-picker with an engine tilter and you'll probably have to take the hood off and remove the radiator and possibly the condensor as well.

We pulled the 305 and 700R4 at the same time when we did the Lt1 swap.
We put the LT1/4L60E back in as one unit with the headers attached.
We used this swivel bracket on the cherry picker,

If I had shop facilities, I would and hve done it. That way the car can be partially up and you could more easily angle the engine and tranny with an engine crane. Personally, I would think it to be easier with just hoisting it up and taking the tranny out and then the engine.

I have done an insert with the tranny and engine and it was difficult and scratched some paint in the engine bay.

Ive dont it many times. Even without a load leveler. IF u dont have one make sure u have 2 strong buddies to tilt the motor on the way out.

ya'll were all to late, we pulled the motor and tranny at the same time. we just had a engine lift(no tilt). The only other thing we did was take one header off and it came out.
