I believe the idling problem I have been having may be due to a crankcase leak between the intake manifold and the block. How would I test this? Would plugging both PCV holes and checking for improvement be an affective way?

 

Spray carb cleaner around the area you think is leaking. If the idle changes, then there's a leak.
