I am and have been experiencing a similar problem, but when braking. If I apply the brakes, not hard even, but firmly and fast, not a slow steady braking, but more of a fast, strong braking, I hear this loud pop coming from the front of the car. I was thinking it was something to do with the front brakes, but wondered what could be that loud? Well thanks guys!

I dont think it would. it might over bumps, but not just by turning the wheel.

mine did the same thing, till lately when I figured out my subframe bolts were loose! the ones at the rear of the subframe, on both sides were loose to the touch. I havent heard the noise since, so I hope thats where the noise came from. mine always happened when backing and turning out of a parking spot. just about everytime. so check all the subframe bolts. if they are tight, then its more then likely your lower ball joints in the front.

Its not the strut that makes the noise it's the strut plates or bushings that make the noise. The best way to tell is open the hood and put your finger on the stud were your stut comes thru from the bottom and have someone bonce the front end you will feel a klunk here if your plates are going out.
