hey guys i ran into another problem with my 89 camaro i left my car sit for one full day without starting it this morning i go to start my car and nothing no lights come or anything now it has a new battery and alternator...any ideas guys what might be wrong??>..thanks

wiggle the wires on the batery and make sure they have a good and tight connection is 1 thing you can try.

I had this problem with my 82. Turned out to be a bad battery cable. The negative one to be exact.

well i was looking through my battery cables and seen that the negative cable was loose so i tightend the cable but still no luck so i looked at the cables and seen that the posittive cable has some corrosion but im not sure if thats the problem or not but im going to replace the cables and terminals..it just seems to me that something is draining the battery??>..thanks

well guys i replace the bolts to the cables and now they are tight but still getting my battery draind from some where ????

check with an ampmeter for the amp draw then repost back your results.

Do you happen to have an aftermarket CD changer that uses an RF modulator through the radio? If you do that could be your problem, mine was drawing my battery down. Just a guess, something to check.

no cd changer...what do you mean to check the amps to the alternator????before i start the car???..thanks

no i said check the amp draw with an ampmeter, for a description of how an ampmeter works check it out on google. it will tell you an amp draw with the car off and no lights on. report back with that number.

ok so im little confused here..i know whats a amp meter but the thing is where do i make contact too??battery or alternator??..thanks

you disconnect the positive cable on the battery. you then place the ampmeter in series with the battery and the cable. write down a number and post back. So battery + post, ampmeter lead, ampmeter, other lead, other part of positive battery cable.

ok so heres what i did i load tested the battery is read 700 the alternator read 14.2...hopefully this helps..thanks
