PLEASE HELP! Odd..... "clicking noise" coming from pass side head area.
Hey guys. Heres my problem. While warming up, my car makes a load repeated high=pitched really clicky noise that comes from the pass side head area of the block. At this point, the car also looses serious power. By this I mean while it is in fast idle at say, 1600RPM, it almost instantly bogs out to about 800 or so, then slowly regains its previous RMP. Its really weird. Car has also been bogging alot lately. My Heater Core went out today, so I don't know if that would have anything to do with it. But any help would be appreciated guys, I am at a loss. Thanks!!!

Assuming that you still have the stock hyd. lifters installed and the sound goes away after awhile when it gets warmed up.... It sounds like you have a lifter going bad and is bleeding down when the engine is shut off. When they bleed down it takes awhile to build pressure up and be able to lift the spring.
If the sound doesn't go away then something in the valve train assy is going bad ie. rocker, lifter, cam, springs. Best thing to do is remove the valve cover and turn the motor and see which valve is not closing properly and go from there. From what you posted this is the only advise I can give.
Hope this helps.

ya, same thing, it is quiet at start-up, but then does this. For about 15 seconds, then it goes away. Nothing really major I guess. It doesn't seem to be affecting anything. I found what appeared to be a vacuum leak in a line going to the carb/AIR pollution system. Car runs alot better. Has not hesitated once under hard acceleration since this. It used to bog when not yet warm to the point of near shuting down. Not any more. Thanks guys!
