Please help...I'm lost

I am trying to find a roll bar for my GTA. But I am trying to find a particular one. Not that long ago I saw on a website or in a magazine a bolt in roll bar for a thirdgen. But it was a little different than the usual. This one had the traditonal roll bar, with the supports to the rear wheel wells. But instead of having the regular front arms that you have to climb over or swing out, it had arms that were as low as your front seat. They came out from the bottom of the roll bar and straight across the door opening rather than coming from the center of the roll bar and diagonally across the door opening. In other words they would pose no hinderance to entering or exiting the vehicle at all. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Does anyone have one?? Does anyone know who makes this? Thanks.

I remember seeing that pic too, but I don't know any more than you do. I've tried to find out who made it but never came up with anything.

correct me if i'm wrong but wouldn't the traditional style be a much safer concept?

looks to me like you would be better off with a 4 pt and some sbfc's. it's still something that will be in the way, granted much easier then most though.

Yeah the traditional design with the side bars coming down from just above shoulder height would be stronger. This design probably doesn't do much better than a 4pt and perimeter SFC's, but since I have the Alston SFCs in mine there still isn't a lot of support along the pinch rail so every little bit will help. If you'll notice, this design also doesn't have the shoulder-height crossbar needed for 5-point harnesses, or the NHRA required 6x6" plates at each mounting point. If you don't plan on needing to pass tech anyway, and just want more strength/rollover protection, it seems like a pretty good cage to me.
