People with subs in the hatch

Do any of you have any pics? Im looking to install some subs in the hatch soon (hopefully with christmas money). Just looking for ideas on the kind of box to build, where to put it, etc.

Got a pair of 12-inchers in the stock locking compartment lid. If you want a pic, post your question on the Stereo board at TGO and I'll post a pic of mine there. Then reply here with a link so we can all check it out. Unfortunately, this site does not allow picture posting.... and we all know a picture is worth 1,000 words!

I agree.
But what is the address for TGO?
I have to register with ANOTHER web board.

The link to thirdgen is in my sig above. Yes, you'll have to register, but once you've seen our boards, I think you'll agree that it is THE best third generation F-body board around. I spend 95 percent of my time there.

They sell them on e-bay every once and a while. You could probably get a good deal there.

I got my box on Ebay, I think it was around $80 shipped. Just make sure your subs are designed for about 1.25 cubic air space sealed.

you can make your own, not hard at all
originally i had the box for them, then we cut it down and they went sub side out (normal mounted)-o, these are 10s by the way
then with a few cuts and screws, i made them reverse mounted
sounds a whole lot better now, but i still need a new amp (got a little off brand one right now)
i say do that if you got some cheap wood laying around
wish i could post pics, but i dont have a scanner or digital cam or anythin

I live in some apartments with no space to create my own box. Thanks for the input though. If I had space to use my tools (and wouldnt get in trouble for doing it) I would.
But Stans Car Stereo here in town said they would build one for me for like 130 bucks.

If they're building one for $130, my guess is that it's either not MDF, or they aren't going to conform to the unique contours of the trunk. A thirdgen-specific box is pretty complex and almost any shop that builds it right is going to charge nearly double that amount.

On my boxes, there are 17 different pieces of wood, not including the two that make up the carpeted cover panel.
