Ok, figured out a cam, couple questions

Ok guys I think I've got my motor fully planned out.
Goal: 12's, NA, Daily Driver, 16+mpg
Plan of Attack:

L98 (MAF or Speed Density?)
Vortecs
SDPC TPI Base
Ported SLP Runners
Ported Plenum
24 lb Injectors (would that be the optimum size?)
LT4 Hotcam kit
Mid Lengths or Shorties (We have emissions here )
I've already got a cat-back
Appropriate Tuning

Is there anything else I'm missing?

What kind of rwhp/tq would I see?

As far as dipping into the 12's, by then I'll have the 6-speed in. 3.45 or 3.70 9-bolt. SFC's. With just that could I do it?

Thanks!

I woud say rather than that other TPI stuff you were talkin about just buy a stealthram with runners for around $500 and get the who package. For headers if you have emmisions look to SLP they are pretty good with that kinda stuff. Also the MAD or SD thing is touch. Under premium conditions SD is a litle better. But MAF is a little more forgiving with weather.

Like Doug said you need some suspention mods. SUb-frame connectors defenetely, and a few other odds and ends.

Edit: ALso buy a better fuel pump, and an adjustable regulator so you can turn the pressure up.

I agree Darth, ditch the TPI stuff, go with a stealth ram...since you cant use the Vortec heads with a stealth ram, get a set of aftermarket heads, Pro Action heads are pretty cheap and the 200cc heads outflow Vortec out of the box, and dont cost that much more, you will probably come out ahead with Pro-action-Stealth Ram as compared to the Vortec-TPI combo on price and way ahead on power. Then you will be able to pull a 3.7X gear no problem and be into the deep 12's...maybe even knocking on 11's door.

As far S/D or MAF...are you going to be doing your own prom tuning? If so go S/D if not and going with an off the shelf chip, go MAF.

Yeah, I know I'd need traction bolt-on's. As far as the stealth ram:
I did a whole lot of reading on a huge thread over at TGO. I wouldn't like taking my stock internal motor up to 6 grand to get full power out of it. And I'll be starting with a stock L98 (probably 100k + miles) so revvin it to the moon wouldn't be too wise. I think it'll be more cost efficient to go Vortec/TPI. Don't forget: daily driver and I think the HSR would just be too aggressive. Thanks for the input.

Any ideas of rwhp and tq?

With MAF, you have better adjustability. I would not want to spend money on the engine and not optimize the EPROM because GM programs it for emmissions first and power somewhere else. It costs less than $400 to get a truely custom EPROM. Why waste time with anything else? SD has no MAF so has one system less to fool with.

Ditch the TPI stuff man, it is worthless, first off with that cam u r going to be sufficating the motor, the runner length is just to long for that cam, i believe the runner length on a TPI is 13 inches or somewhere around that area, can look if needed. I have the LT4 hot cam also and there is no if ands or buts, u have to get rid of the TPI, i know first hand, the car will idle better and just move alot better through the low to mid rpms, i'm one of 6 people i know with the LT4 cam in TPI cars, and we all had to get different intakes, even switching to the edelbrock high flow runners and base package did not help n e of us. Wish u the best man and keep us informed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There's a guy over on www.ThirdGen.org (I posted it there too) and he said his Dad's got the same combo w/ a ZZ4 cam instead of the Hotcam and he's run a 13.23. The Hotcam is even more aggressive than the ZZ4.

There are significant gains when you get the SR intakes.
