In the summer it is fine but I would be hesitant to run it in the winter because it is a little thick and will not flow as well when cold starting.

Well it is winter, should i be nervous... is it bad for the engine. My oil pressure has been high since the change... Maybe 55 - 60 all the time, worse in the mourning. Should i change it?

I would go with 5W30 year round unless you are a freak like me and drive all year round then 0W30.

Edit: 0W40

Mobil 1 0W30 is a synthetic oil that is used my Mercedes Benz and is sold at our Checker Schuks Cragen.

Edit: 0W40. 0W30 is sold just about most places that Mobil1 is sold.

Its fine don't worry about it. Higher oil pressure is what you want anyways. Just go back to 10w30 whens its due.

Just because Mercedes uses it doesn't mean its the best for all cars. Mobile 1 is a great oil though. I use Mobil 1 Synthetic 10-30 all year round, and the car likes it. Oh, and don't cars like high oil pressure? And your oil pressure should be higher before the car warms up, thats normal.

It is for me. My wife has it in her MB, it is used in my Firebird and now my Truck. That way, I can buy in bulk 1 oil for all cars. Any can of oil I pick up will go into any car instead of this oil for the MB, 0W30 in the winter for the Firebird and 5W30 for the summer and 5W30 mineral oil for the Truck. I just double the life on the Truck when I use 0W40

Factory recommends 5-30w,most people use 10-30w it's easier to find. The temp in Carmel isn't that cold you will be ok with the 10-40w for now just switch to one of the others when due.

Ok smartass. I let the oil change light come on and clear it then at the next light, change it.

10W-40 is something that I would stay away from if possible. It is basically loaded with viscosity improvers to get the added viscosity when warm. In fact, you can find many engine manufacturers that strictly point out not to use 10W-40. It is just too much of a spread for a conventional oil to make. If you really want the extra pressure of a 40W when hot, you will need to go to a synthetic. Keep in mind that having more oil pressure than you need consumes horsepower, as the oil pump is working harder to move the thicker oil.
