I'm pretty sure I have the basic idea of how to do the swap. Anyone have any good links?

The motor swap forum on www.thirdgen.org has all the answers you can ask for. And some guys on there (TexasLT1, mat89rs, etc) will answer whatever you need. Good luck, got the motor yet?

Are you swapping engines or just the intakes?
If just the intake, www.lt1intake.com

Good call. Unless you've got the motor already, just swap intakes. There are no other "real" advantages of the LT1 over a typical 350 SBC. Once again if you don't have the engine yet...I agree with Manny, get an LS1

I found an LT1/T56 combo I can't really pass up. I've got all kinds of probs with my current harness, electrical, A/C ect. It's just time for somethig new. On top of that, a buddie of mine has a 95z that runs deep into the 11's. We're are going to build me the same setup. Thanks for the links, keep em comming.

There are lots of advantages besides the intake.

-Better heads
-Reverse cooling system is better
-The ignition system is better (although some people think the opti is bad, it works well when working properly)
-Stock for stock the cams are better (slightly)
-fuel injectors are better (24#s / hour, and they don't clog as easy)

Be sure to get the LT1 fuel pump as well, cause it's better than the L98 one as well. See, the list goes on

Technology improved on the LT1 over the earlier SBC versions, just as the LS1 is above the LT1 in the food chain.
