Notice: Installing SLP runners. They don't work with Edelbrock intakes

As the title says. I have put my car in the shop twice trying to get my SLP runners installed on my Vortec Scoggin Dickey crate motor. It comes with a Vortec TPI intake on it.

The recent shop called SD and asked who made their intake. The salesman replied "Edelbrock". So turns out I have an Edelbrock TPI intake even though it says SD. SLP runners will not fit.

So just in case anyone orders an Edelbrock or Scoggin Dickey intake for your TPI equipped car you'll have to get the Edelbrock runners.

So now I'll be selling my SLP runners with gaskets and bolts after my vacation on ebay. My ebay name is irocz28iroc if you want to look it up around Sept. 5th.

Interesting. I have seen SLP runners fit that intake manifold.

Yea two shops verified it. Then Scoggin Dickey finally figured it out and told my mechanic who currently has the car.

The ad for the Edel. intake on the Summit site says it will take aftermarket runners too. Weird.

I already ordered the Edelbrock runners so they can be installed while I'm in Florida and Alabama for two weeks. Most everything on my car is Edel. anyway so I guess if these work my car will be all Edel. mods.

My dad has SLP runners on his Scoggin Dickey Vortec TPI manifold. All it takes is a little grinding and they'll fit. The shorter runners are also better than the long runners of the Edelbrock. I'd make a bet you'll have a problem with the Edelbrock runners, too.

Edelbrock makes all the intake manifolds for TPI engines now, even the Accel ones. This has been true for about 2 years. Scoggin Dickey contracted with Edelbrock to make the Vortec TPI manifold, and SD had exclusive rights to sell it until recently, and now Edelbrock can sell it too. SD still has the better price though.

The shop called this morning and the Edelbrock runners installed with no problems or modifications. I was definately worried they would not fit.

So now we know, no mods needed for the Edel. runners on the Scoggin TPI intakes.
