not a camaro, or even a chevy, but i need help
hey guys
my daily driver is a 94 ford taurus and it started misfiring
it wasnt so bad when i first started the car, but got worse as the car warmed up
i did a cylinder balance test (if anyone is familiar with ford's eec IV system)
and it showed me that cylinders 1 and 4 were completely dead
(cylinders 1 through 3 on the rear bank, 4 through 6 on the front bank)
i did a compression test and all 6 cylinders were giving me 160-165 psi
my guess was that the problem was ignition related because the distributor cap, rotor and wires have not been changed since i got the car over 50k miles ago (the car now has 102k miles)
i changed the plugs wires cap and rotor and the car was misfiring worse
turns out that was because accidentally switched two of the spark plug wires
i put the wires in the right order, and i'm 100% sure of it
now i go to start it up, the motor spins but doesnt start
any ideas what the problem could be?

Try replaceing the thing with a Chevy, or the ignition module.
Re: not a camaro, or even a chevy, but i need help
i dont believe its the ignition control module because when i pull the wire from the coil the coil does spark, so if the secondary ignition system is working the primary is working right?
and even if the spark is intermittent (which it doesnt seem to be) the car should still fire and start and stumble for a little bit, but it doesnt even fire
i thought maybe the ignition coil itself was bad, but same as above
i'm pretty sure i did something stupid, and forgot to connect something but i dont see anything
please, any other suggestiong?
