No TV Cable...need some help here

When we put the 350 and trans in my car, I hooked up what I thought was the tv/detent cable. Turns out that was my original cruise control for my car! Upon inspection, I also realized that the TH-350 I had did not have a tv cable, and the hole where it's supposed to go was covered with a small metal plate and sealed with some kind of liquid gasket maker. I haven't driven the car a whole lot, maybe 10 or 15 miles since the swap. Where can I get the correct TV cable for this transmission, and can there be any real damage done to the transmission because this cable was not hooked up? I don't believe there were alot of miles on this transmission(atleast not more than 10k), is there anything I need to worry about? I'm not quite sure what the TV cable does besides downshift when you floor it...so I don't quite know what else that's for. Any info will be awesome!

turbo 350s dont have tv cables they have a vacuum pod on the trans that hooks to the engine vacuum.

turbo 350's do have a TV cable known as a kick down cable, and it should be hooked up as it does change line pressure at WOT,

Could the transmission have been hurt because the cable was no hooked up?

No, it will not be hurt if you run it without the KICKDOWN cable. It does not affect line pressure like a TV cable does on a 700R4. It exists for ONLY one reason- to allow the tranny to downshift automatically when you go near WOT. The line pressure on a TH-350 trans is modified by the vacuum modulator on the back/pass. side of the trans which works off manifold vacuum.

B&M makes a nice adjustable kickdown cable for about $40 for the TH-350. I have used them several times.

FYI- you may need to drop the pan to install it, plus you may be missing a part. There is a little metal rod that goes from a lever on the valve body INSIDE the tranny pan and sticks up through that hole that is, apparently, blocked off on your trans. The purpose of this metal rod is to allow you to hook up the kickdown cable without ever digging into the trans to attach it to something. If this rod is missing you will need to get one AND you will need to drop the pan to install it. THEN you can hook up your new kickdown cable on the outside of the trans, attaching the cable end to the end of the rod that will be sticking up through that little hole.

Hmm, well I took that little piece off, looks like dude either cut that little metal piece off or just took it out cause I don't see it. I used vacuum line for the modulator but I think it collapsed, should I use metal line instead?

The factory used metal line for about 80% of the run length, but it isn't strictly necessary. You can use regular vacuum line if you take care not to kink it, pinch it or allow it to lay against something hot (exhaust).
