Is there any way to get MSD 85551 distributor and MSD 6AL to work with a -88 Trans Am?

I bought those, before I´d checked that it would work .

Anyone done this, or know how to wire up the conectors to give the injectors the puls.

 

on my holley ignintion i used the tach output to the injector pulse wire going to the ecm from the distributor. been that way for 2 years. which i think is the purple/white wire in this diagram

That´s great. Will test it tomorrow. What about the tachymeter? Did You split that output? Or where does it get it´s information?

 

wire it into the same tach output. you'll get the SES light on because you removed the EST (ignition module in old distributor) that will never go away. unless you remove the bulb.

 

Strange, because I was monitoring with my Xray when I didn´t get now crank. No problems found. The SES I don´t know, as the car didn´t start.

Thank You for Your quick answer, hope it´ll work. I´m starting getting really pissed right know. Everything that can HAS gone wrong Know it´s only this little matter left, so I really hope it works.

 

car won't start because there is no reference from the distributor to fire the injectors. once you wire it in and start it, then the EST code will appear (code 42).

 

K, I´ll check that for tomorrow then. Now it´s bedtime.

Thank You VERY much. It worked great. Now I only have to take care of the vacuum hosings. It will not idle, but I haven´t connected all of them (I´m installing a HSR).
