Question Newbie - Tire size on stock '88 rims

Stock size is 215/65R15.

Would there be any problem throwing 225/60R15 tires on the stock rims for street use? The speedometer will be off by 1.4% but not a biggie.

Would I run into any seal problems?

Thanks

You should be just fine with that size. The rim shouldn't be too picky about what sixe tire is on it unless you go overboard. You should be able to fit somehtin like a 275/50/15 Nitto on there actually like my friend Goodluck!

The previous owner had put 235/60/15s on the stock 15x7 rims. No problem there. You can definetly run what you want. The 235 made it impossible to scratch the rim on the curb . Now I have 16x8 polished TT II's with 245/50/16 z rated dunlops (oh so nice)

I bet my speedo is pretty screwed up.

Thanks folks.

I'm going to go ahead and put 225's on it.

I'd go right to the 235s. That'll help maintain a more accurate aspect ratio, plus they'll actually be wide enough to tell a difference from the 215s. 215 vs 225 isn't even worth the effort.

Is there any chance I would have clearance problems cranking the front wheels with the 235's or is there lots of room in there?

Thanks
