New here and I need alot of help

Hey guys, I just registered here and thought I would say what's up to everybody. Your most likely going to hear alot from me in the next few months because I'm peicing my 87 IROC back together. I had a leacky hatch and the water came in so bad that the car got alot of mold inside and I have terrible allergies so I had to tear out the seats, carpet and everything else. While I had everything out, I decided to convert all the panels inside to black so if anyone has any black interior panels around(in good shape of course), I will buy them. I'm also going to put a cage in it so if anyone has any tips about roll cages, please let me know. Thanks guys,
Mike

Welcome, searching for leaks on a 3rd gen can be fun Check your weather stripping, and you might need to remove your decklid panel and put in some new weatherstripping and silicone. The best thing to do is get inside the hatch and watch where the water comes in, Have someone hose down the rear of the car.

I know your right about the weather stripping, it definitly needs to be replaced. But also, the rear hatch seems to be mis-aligned. If you look at the top where the hatch meets the roof, there is a little more gap on one side than the other. How hard would it be to adjust that?

You may need to loosen up the bolts for the hinge and move it around some, also make sure to torque down the bolts to their specific ft/lbs. To get to them you need to take off the int trim just beneath the top of the hatch. Check your decklid to rear of the quarter panel gap. Does it go past the back of the quarter panel???
