I just bought a new old 1992 z28. I went against what my parents wanted and bought the car i have wanted for years. Although they are stil trying to talk me out of keeping it. I bought it in amazing shape, and runs great. But in the long run, how hard is it to maintane an older car like that?
yes congrats on your new car
i'm sure there will be some things here and there that will come up with this car, but as was mentioned before.... its a small block chevy, you have a very large aftermarket available for just regular replacement parts as well as performance replacement stuff

But I think these cars are getting up in years and good ones getting a bit scarce---mine sits in the garage and only comes out on nice days. Its in retirement

I keep the miles from racking up and the chance of accidents low+ preserve the car

Tell your parents that this guy owns a 92 Z28 with 5.7 and has 350K miles on it....most reliable and fun car I ever owned. Not that hard to keep it running if you have some basic automotive knowledge. Things will break and get "old" but these are the type of cars that I think is fun to repair (make it better and faster). To me a malfunctioning part is a good excuse to upgrade.
