Post Need some Help

Ok heres some backround on my car. It's a 91 Z-28 convertible.305 TPI stock motor with 94,000 miles. It has mild bolt ons.Gutted air box,K@N's,Air Foil,2 1/2 duals all the way back to the back seat into a flowmaster merge collector 3" over the axle single in single out 80 series,3:73's, Factory converter. I dynoed at APE on 5/4/02 she put down 209.4 HP @4600rpm. and 266.6 ft/lbs @ 3800rpm. I was pretty happy with the results for a 305.But you know how it goes....It's never good enough. I recentley dyno'd again at superfest on 7/5/02 later on in the evening @ 8:40 pm when it was cooler out.I added a Crane HI-6 ignition w/a LX-92 Coil,Ed Wright stage 2 chip,Holley Adj Reg factory pressure was @46 we bumped it to @48 cause the guy at ape told me it was running a little lean.I also added some headers that are I think 1 3/4" and are supposed to be SLP's. They look really crazy. any way my power dropped to 206.8hp@4500r's and torque dropped to 255.5 @ 3700r's. The guy from werx motorsports told me that the headers were too big for the motor. Does any body have any ideas or suggestions for me??? I would hate to spend $600 to lose 5 HP and 10 FT/LBS. The best time I've gotten with the car was 14.4@99.02 w/a 2.0 60ft.Not to bad for a heavy car with a little mouse. And that was after all the mods. Thank you in advance for the help.

James

Its the gear James. Way too much for a TPI and even more so a 305. The most you want with a TPI engine is a 3.42.

I know a guy from the boards that will swap it out for you cheap. Let me know when you are coming back to town if you want it done.
