I want to order a set of AFR heads...but I have no clue what I need to order. I have a GM3970010 block with drivers side oil dipstick...and I have the Holley Stealthram going on top....I havent ordered my cam yet as I want to do that after I get the heads.

Part#?
what angle heads?
straight or angled plugs?

I know theres a wait on the heads thats why I want to order them now...

It's probably going to come down to what intake gasket the Holley Stealth Ram will tolerate.

The AFR 180's are designed around a Fel Pro 1256 gasket while the 195's are designed around a Fel Pro 1205.

Give Jason (ext 124) a call at AFR. He can answer all your questions.

Why not get a set of Trick Flow 23 degree heads for $1350, about $800 less and 95% of the performance of AFR's?
AFR's are the best head out there, but they are a race head. It costs more than its worth to turn them into a street head. Two people in our club bought AFR heads, and they each spent more than $2100 after all the options were added to make them work for the street.

I run AFR 195's on my 383. I use angled plug. cc choice will depend on your set-up: target compression, piston (flat, dish, dome), etc

As for price, I got them shipped to my door for $1250. Bolted them right on with no other changes and ran for a yr. I did eventually change springs when I went to a bigger cam.

Very happy with these. I would go with the 195's for street/strip car. I now wish I had the 210's as I keep upping my boost and the car is starting to trend more towards strip side.
