SpeedAutomotive's T56 kit doesn't include the 3rd gen crossmember or the console plate. Depending on what year your car is, you may also need a flywheel for a 2-piece rear main seal (Centerforce part# 700107) and either a speedo signal converter or a Cable-X box.

It's a late-model engine so the LT1 flywheel will work. I think you'll need the LT1 starter also (not sure if the stocker will fit the bellhousing) which you can get from SpeedAutomotive for probably next to nothing. Get a crossmember from Spohn...he has a good design and a great price ($110.)

I can't remember what year they went to an electronic speedo, so I'm not sure which one you'll need, but either a Cable-X box (for mech. speedo) or an SGI-5 from Dakota Digital (elec. speedo) will take care of the speedometer issues.

The SGI-5 won't do the job then. Run a search on this forum for the Cable-X, I can't remember the website but I know I've seen it come up here before.

Well doing some research would be of some help here

Here is a tech article from www.thirdgen.org

http://www.skulte.com/T56.html

and here is another from www.poorformance.net

http://poorformance.net/tech/t56/t56.html

and yet another from www.sethirdgen.org

http://sethirdgen.org/t56.htm

Hopefully these will show you that this is an easy swap, but it isnt' a cheap swap.

I also see a T56 for sale in the classified section at least once a week. I check the boards twice a day, if not more.

Good luck

It's either that or $200 for an Autometer electronic speedo and if you go that route then you have to find a way to mount it that doesn't look goofy.

Or you could update the dash to the newer style that uses an electronic speedo and buy the SGI-5, but with the time it takes to swap the dash you won't be much better off.

Or you could pay $600 for a tailshaft modified to use a mech. speedo sender.
