Thumbs up

Got the same crate....CONGRATS!!! I am using hooker super comp shorties 1 5/8" tubes. I had the AIR tubes cut and holes welded shut (no emissions ). I have had NO PROBLEM with 'em. Are you keeping the TPI or going with the carb??

Later

Oh yeah...click the link below to see the motor in the car!!

Only considering shorties: SLP's are the best, Hookers (imo) are the best overall value.

I have the Edelbrock TES, they work and sound great, they were an easy install as far as headers go. but the choice is yours!!

SLP headers are the best. I got Edelbrock and hated them. That and Accel Superram intakes. and a custom EPROM to maximize your system.

I had 1"3/4 slp and hated them ,they did still look nice after they were heated up a few times, but the problems weren't worth the nice look.I had to change the motor mounts because the headers hit the sterring linkage. Then the heat caused my fuel to boil and vapor lock, and this was after wrapping the headers and the fuel line on the drivers side. This is with 1"3/4 and on a 89 gta trans am .I never used the 1"5/8 ,maybe fitment would be better?? I have edelbrock now and they installed very easily, and i've been happy with them. They do look kinda krappy now that the paint's burned off so i might get them ceramic coated or just wrap em
Hope this helps

In my opinion if your under 400 horsepower, use 1"5/8.
