Post Need help fast!!

My mechanic just started to install my LT1 cam into my 1992 RS camaro. He just called and said that the lobes are 1/4inch smaller on the LT1 cam then the l03 cam. Is this normal? wont i lose horsepower?? maybe this isnt the LT1 cam?

.250" smaller?? thats alot...
base circle of a cam can make a difference
if the base circle is .500 and the cam lift is
.250 (times rocker ratio is valve lift)
is the same as .300 with a .250 cam lift.
regound cams do this, stroker cams do this
due to the lobe height can strike the rod/bolt
on large lift cams.
valve train geometery will have to be checked
for tolerence and proper rocker alignment.
