need help

I recently pick up a 350 for cheap and i am interested to see what exacly it is, is there any specific way to tell what exact motor i have and what hp its rated at? thanks

www.mortec.com Use that to identify the block and heads. Use the block and head information in Google to get an idea of the donor vehicle and/or power rating.

has anyone here every put the 400 crank in a 350 block to make it the 383.

Thousands of folks used to do it before you could get cheap stroker kits. If I remember correctly, The main journals need to be turned down .20, ( 2.45 vs 2.65) and you have to either use the shorter 400 rods or pistons with a different pin location. Nowadays it ain't worth it when a 383 stroker kit is one stop shopping.
