hi i have a 1987 irocz with a 96 LT1 caprice cop car motor in it. I recently got it running but it only idles for 10 seconds then dies on its own, any ideas?

 

Air, fuel, and spark = run. Sounds like the fuel pump is shutting off after starting.

 

Many have had to do the resistor mod to bypass the vats to allow the fuel pump to continue feeding gas to the engine.

 

You may have better luck with this thread in the LT1 section.

 

Give us some more info . What wiring harness are you using ? How did you wire up your pump . What pump are you using. Did you have anyone reprogram your ECM to disable the V.A.T.S. system. Is all the EGR system still being used ?
