Need Help. 305 + cam +heads etc.
305ci engine (out of 1993 caprice with 9.3:1cr) Engine was recently rebuild to stock specs. Its currently in my younger brother's 1982 Corvette (I have one C3 so he decided to purchase his own).
The car has dual 2.5 exhaust, 650cfm carb with Performer RPM intake, t-56 transmission and 4.11 gears and this small GM ramjet cam #14097395 (431/451 lift 196/206 duration @.050 on a 109).
Question:
He wants to add few hp to his setup. HE DOESNT want to change the cam but he is planning put some ported vortec heads (or anything else that will flow well). Goal is ~350RWTQ.
Is it even possible to get 350TQ from that cam with 305ci?? and if yes what heads he will need.

vortech heads need some mods at a certain point and yes 350 tq is VERY possible. right now with my stock 081 castings (87-92 LB9 TPI heads) and porting im pulling 326 tq at the rear wheels. my cam is 480/480 210/220 112 LSA headers and 3" edelbrock catback and im not completly tuned. i'll be installing the FAST EZ efi soon and then i'll go back to the dyno to see what im pulling when im not running at a 11.98 WOT fueling.
pop on a set of S/R torker world product heads or mod the vortech heads and you shouldnt have any issue getting to 350 fttq. esp with the stock runners as larger runners move you up the HP band. dont plan on it being a big top end car with all of that tq.

Only the 1983 vette #45 came with a 305!......

Seriously though been there and done that... the only fun I ever got out of a 305 was from nitrous and even then it wasn't that great. Best thing for that 305 is donated to the local school for auto shop or a boat anchor.

Its some kid of aftermarket engine/heads/cam package. It made 220RWHP and he wants more.
